You need to contact Patrick O'Sullivan an attorney in Cazenovia, NY and also research bunn-o- matic on google for other victims. He may/will be able to help you, I know this personally, he has experience with these particular cases. AND definitely contact the CPS.gov (Consumer Product Safety Commission)

Sorry to hear about the fire and the loss of your possessions and particularly your dog. What was the recall for? How old was the coffee maker? Did you purchase it new or was it used? Did the fire department investigate the cause, did they determine it to be the coffee maker? Was their determination the same as Bunn's investigation? What did Bunn say you did to tamper with it? Maybe you should file a complaint with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (cpsc.gov). Continued...
