it's pathetic how immature some of these comments are regarding the age gap in the relationship of The Reader. What's even worse, I bet they're twice my age. I read this book countless times on my schoolbus, never though it was disgusting, never had an immature view on it; it was raw, sad, and honest, a comfort.
Dig deeper into the underlayers of the story's plot before you go around, trying to sound 'funny' about how some 'old lady' is banging a kid.

I can't beleive that young boy David Cross hasn't got any nomination for his marvelous role , eh was so real ,beleivalble in this role that its imposible to think that he was actually acting it .... great film , the best this year , evokes so many different emotions .... movei that makes you think .... long after ...
