So you think your ready to be a boss. http://bit.ly/IntuitHiringGrant You could win a grant to help you become one. But first, learn from Rhonda Abrams about how people make the mental leap to readiness when they consider hiring their first employee. You will find out how hiring can grow your business and change the world.

Rhonda Abrams: Let's talk about the upside of becoming a boss. When I started my business, I didn't want to have a boss, but I also didn't want to be a boss. That kind of thinking meant I waited too long, actually way too long, before hiring my first employee.

Remember, you can't grow if you don't get help. You just can't do it all alone. There's actually enormous upside to having employees. You get to grow your business, change your life, even change the world.

You're only one person and you can only do so much. When you have help, you can serve more customers or clients. You have more time to focus on growth, to develop new products, to reach out to new customers.

You'll spend less time on administrative tasks or grunt work. Hey, I used to spend hours a week going to the post office instead of working with clients. Not a good way to grow.

Just as working with others helped me grow my business, it helped me grow as a person. I gained skills and confidence and much more. Having someone else on board brings you more talent and skills and working alone can be lonely. It's hard to make all the decisions by yourself and hard to stay motivated.

Want to really make a difference in the world? Then create a good job. There are more than 20 million American businesses without any employees. And think about it. If only one percent of them hired just one employee, we'd create 200,000 more jobs. You can be part of that.

And I want to emphasize the incredible pride you get from creating a good job. When your head hits the pillow at the end of the day, you know that you've changed the world if you've created a good job. I know I have tremendous pride in being a good employer.

Add it all up and you'll see why hiring your first employee can lead to a new wave of job satisfaction and growth for your business.
