the Japanese spearman is way too rigid as oppose to the relaxed and flexible spear play of the Chinese.

That is all Chinese propaganda, the Chinese had nothing to gain by preventing the Mongols from conquering Japan. The fact is that the Japanese did twice what the Chinese could not do once, prevent the Mongols from conquering them. Moreover the Chinese could not even defeat the Japanese with the Ming Empire and the help of Korea and the war led to the collapse of the Ming. The fact it was Japan who occupied China in the Modern world and the Chinese still are sore over this.

Secretly built for rivers instead of the sea? Cite a legitimate historical text that confirms this because that sounds like nonsense. The chemical bombs did not completely destroy the samurai, the samurai still held the beach and the Mongols returned to their ships for whatever reason. The samurai also killed many Mongols during the night by sneaking onto the ships. Yet you ignore these facts because they make Japan look good.

@Epikiwi There are a whole bush of political disputes and disobedience by the Chinese but I am not going to get into them. Only, the most famous one where if the Chinese actually build ships for the Mongols for seafaring, Japan may not have survived the invasion. But facts are facts, in the only war the can be described as a legitimate, Japan failed to take Ming. No matter what this brought up or paved the way for, that is what happened.

@Plato86 Truth is, when Mongols invaded on their ships, which the Chinese secretly build for rivers instead of the sea, the chemical bombs the Chinese developed were used by the Mongols to completely destroy the samurai defending the beaches. You do not seem to understand that the Chinese tried to oppose and sabotage the Mongol rule at every turn. There are plenty of uprising and the Chinese soldiers never fought seriously for the Mongols nor used to the hit-and-run tactics.

You do not defeat the greatest dynasty in all of Asia twice based on luck alone. The typhoons helped the Samurais defeat the Yuan twice but the deciding factor remained the warriors of Japan.
Even with their advanced technology, superior numbers and aid from the Koreans, the Ming struggled to defeat the Japanese during Japan's invasion and occupation of Korea in the ancient world. The fact is that the Japanese were battle hardened by centuries of internal warfare and help superior tactics.

(Continued) Thus the Yuan armies that invaded Japan in the 1300's were essentially Chinese armies led by both Chinese and Mongol generals. Japan defeated these Chinese soldiers twice and maintained their independence from China. As for the Ming, while it is true that the Ming drove out the Mongols and Japanese, you seem to look over that so after the war with the Japanese the Ming dynasty collapsed. The war with the Japanese was strained the resources of the Ming and exposed its weakness.

"Not the Chinese themselves." The distinction between the Mongols and Chinese after Genghis Khan's conquest of China is irrelevant for two reasons. First the Mongols intermarried with the Chinese and thus there was no real distinction between the two groups because then blended their blood and culture, with the Mongols adopting Chinese culture. Second, and more importantly, while the Yuan was ruled by the pure bloodied Mongols, most of the generals and soldiers were Chinese and mixed.

@Epikiwi During WWII, China was bitterly divided among themselves (Communist rebellion) when Japan decided to step in and say hello. Even when China decided they needed to unite to try and drive out Japan, they still, in reality, fought themselves more than the common enemy. So really, I think Japan was either really lucky or are opportunists, and these examples are not valid to say Japan dominates China since ancient times.
