@BodockForger There wasn't really a lot of folk in The Scythe; it was more power metal.
-
@Powermetalking666 'tis. I think it might actually be my favourite album by them. 8)

omg, the beginning of this song is so... so... "waaaauuuuuw!"
-
@battlelos It's a subjective matter. You consider it bad, I don't. Statistically, The Scythe was their best album as it sold the most copies. I don't consider it the best, nor do I consider it the worst. It ranks in the middle for me. Frankly, I don't really care what you - or anyone else for that matter - think.
-
@Nungael I'm curious, why does everyone do an acoustic album right after a bad album?
-
@BeastlyIrishman I actually haven't yet. But now that you mention it, I will. I've sort of strayed away from folk metal, and more into progressive stuff. But as I said, I'll look into it!

The Demo is great

@Tuleinaarii Yeah I guess you have a point.. Except for the last elvenking album, that is totally power metal. I hate those ever growing kinds of labels by the way.

I've been listing to folk metal for years now, I know what it is. And yes Elvenking is folk metal, but the term "folk metal" doesn't describe the style of the metal aspect itself. Musically, I would call it folk metal, but in the technical sense, the music would be "alternative metal" to many people, and melo-death to others. And the good thing about music is that true music is whatever the artist wants it to be and doesn't confine itself to labels. :)

Yes, I'm quite aware of that. I know the difference between melo-death and deathcore. Amorphis is melo-death and Tomi sings most of the time. It's not all about the harshness of the vocals, it's the musical melody combined with the vocals and overall passion of the music.
guys it's not emo shit. new MCR is emo shit. it's melodic death metal (their last album). get it right. indeed they're bringing out an acoustic album this fall. Stop slamming them for doing what they want to do. Also, their new album isn't as a result of listening to their fans, as it was already half written when the scythe came out. they just play what they feel like playing, that's all. they don't play music just because the fans like it they play it because they do. thats how music should be
