Joel Salatin has more than a few ideas about how food can be grown abundantly without harm. His Polyface Farms is the very definition of carrying capacity. He's a good example of why, in this post-AnnaNicole world, all my heros are writers, scientists and farmers.

  • Joel Salatin is so intelligent and well-spoken. He totally destroys the stereotypes of dull southern farmers, and then some,.

His philosophies towards sustainable agriculture are so revolutionary, partly because they're based on common-sense and good moral values.

  • I LOVE JOEL SALATIN!!

  • @nichins

    He uses GMO rice.

He said it clearly during an interview.

Nothing wrong with feeding your animals with GMO.

Don't tell the rest of city slicking America, who usually feels smug about themselves, this

  • @nelgnewg yep.it s pure tragi comedy.in all the agriculture univarsities of the world they brainwash youngsters on their non viable methods as if its the bible truth.and the real knowledge which is possed by simple elegance of the approach as shown here.would be sooo funny if it wasnt such a tragedy.

  • @vidaripollen Love this guy too. It is a shame however that folks think his ideas are revolutionary - have we come that far away from common sense that something as pure and simple and workable would seem cutting edge....my great, great grandparents would be proud as I suspect all our ancestors would!

  • When in Rome....Such large corporations and their greed are only perpetuating their own demise by such callous and viscious tactics. Might do them some good to really put some R&D money into researching sustainable agriculture - might do them some good not only in the moral sense but at the bottom line....just a thought

  • @11bandit20 I agree as well, but don't demonize making money. And yes, he does go through his winter feedings in detail and farmers have been growing winter hay for their livestock since such farming began - this is nothing new and doesn't need to be improved on. Sometimes the old ways ar ethe best for the land, for the animals and for us.
