Take your favorite studio compressor to the stage with the MXR M87 Bass Compressor.

A complete array of controls—Attack, Release, Ratio, Input, and Output—makes it easy to fine-tune your sound, from subtle peak limiting to hard squashed compression effects. Its CHT™ Constant Headroom Technology gives you plenty of headroom and clear performance.

This totally transparent compressor allows your full dynamic range to shine through until your signal reaches the compression threshold, which is indicated by the ten, highly visible gain-reduction status LEDs. It's all packed into a durable, lightweight aluminum-housing pedal that's the size of a Phase 90.

  • Is this Randy Jackson?

  • I am using one for guitar....it is exceptional

  • damn good compressor, I want one, NOW!

  • Hello Darryl, i use the M87 for one week now and i have a bit of a problem using the 20:1 setting with fast attack as mentioned in the user manual. Without any led lith i hear very much distortion. Can you tell what goes wrong?

  • What is the bag brand is it? :)

  • @oplah93 well you've got a good point. i know tim commerford(RATM) uses an aphex punch factory compressor. for me personally it adds a little spice to my tone.

  • @FatFingers4 i dunnno man, why spend 150 bucks on a pedal with limited effects than spend more money on a really nice amp that can compress and even more

  • @oplah93 Bassist use compressor pedals to kind of "Beefen up" our bass tone, or get a "punchier" tone from compressor pedals. bassist also use it to balance out different playing styles. for example a bass player plays softly, then switches to a aggressive slap bass line with out distorting the P.A. speakers at a venue. more than likely he is using a compressor pedal. hope this helps. a compressor pedal is probably the most used pedal among bassist, yet it is a vary subtle effects pedal!

  • somebody needs to expain to me what a bass compressor is supposed to do

  • Very good piece of equipment! Lovely!
