its a good videos and all the school around the country needs to bring back the sex education and its needed in this day and socaity
-
I'm impressed by the frankness of this film, considering when it was made.
I remember seeing sex-ed videos back in 1974 (probably made in the 60s) and they never once mentioned masturbation, let alone calling it normal like this film does.

the couch is creepy lol

These days you don't need videos like this anymore. Kids learn this stuff all by themselves whether through the media or their peers. I can't decide whether that's sad or less burdening for the parents.
-
Does "As Boys Grow" stand for boys growing up, or boners?
-
ohhh yah here we go! i remeber watching this the day b4 i started 7th grade cuz of like sience. now im going into my freshman year of highschool lol. im excited for sum goodass laughs in there :D COME ON HIGHSCHOOL TRY YOUR WORST!!! LOL

@indigothecat conversations in Europe about sex are not the same as in the USA
-
"Mickey Mouse? Listen you..." LOL The coach forgot to mention the part about the chest hair. Why didn't he mention the more about how the boy's voice will get deeper? I'm sure they wanna know.
-
It's hilarious that at this time, boys could be approached to appear semi-nude in videos and talk about ejaculation for the sake of "education"... Now it's just considered child pornography!
-
why does a coach carry around a giant diagram of a kids crotch?
-
LMAO Jim is fat as hell. Sorry sorry! But really, is it just me or did people get better looking over the years?
-
Said the middle aged man to the young boy, "You'd better get some clothes on."
-
no you weren't...
-
All those kids look like they are 10 years old instead of 14 years old.
-
Don and Mike used to play bits from this all the time, particularly that part about wet dreams.
-
The problem with that is that today's educational system wants to talk about condoms and contraceptives and promote sex as a SOCIAL activity rather than as a private biological function (which is why they won't mention masturbation as this would prevent the students from "socializing").
You either have the Christians on one end saying "abstenance" without any elaboration, or the Liberals on the other promoting "free love" inspite of the consequences...
-
"As Boys Grow...", double entendre much?
-
i was about 20 when this came out
-
unfortunately, i think these films were suppose to be serious :S... a good laugh today, nonetheless

These days you'ld be arrested for that kind of behaviour. Good job too as coaches should not go anywhere near kids. If that kid's ankle was sprained he should been advised to see a doctor, not the coach the next day. This is just not right.
-
Coach I sprained my ancle Coach: wo ho freaki ho
-
"oh you know, when sperm comes out of your penis." hahahah great delivery, nice timing and the way it cuts right after that. this was meant to be a comedy hahah.
-
I love how he pauses between describing the parts of anatomy and how he pauses before saying ejaculation. I think you have to take into consideration though that it was the '50's and people were a lot more conservative then.
-
I bet he never imagined that this film would resurface 51 years later. He's probably a retired schoolteacher and his grandkids are catching this on youtube
-
I wish my track coach was that friendly...?
-
I wonder how many years Wet Dream Boy had to spend in therapy? "Doc, I was in that film 50 years ago, and they're still picking on me..."
This is so sad and SO sugar-coated. Then again, back then, people barely knew anything about sex and the sexual organs. It wasn't discussed or talked about openly, which left the conservative people in the dark, and other people to learn the tough way.

Actually "As Boys Grow" is pretty open about sex. You need to watch "Molly Grows Up" to learn what sugar-coating really is.
