Just figured I'd record myself changing the trans fluid on my 00 Neon.

Directions: Jack up car on pinch weld, set jack stand, set oil catch pan under transmission and remove drain plugs with 15mm socket. Once fluid drains, replace drain plug and remove Fill plug with your hand (But could you pliars and access it over the drivers side wheel). Use Siphon Hose or long funel to pour 2.5 quarts into the fill hole, put cap back on and your done!!. Go do your local dodge dealer for the trans fluid.

  • How many quarts do you need to fill it up?

  • @flchaptersdmf

Manual says 4-4.6 pints....Remember, its for a manual transmission.

  • So you only drained as much as would come out right? My mechanic won't take all mine out for some reason. He says it's a bad idea.

  • @Filmaker25 You probably have a automatic transmission......If you drain a automatic transmission only about half the fluid comes out, the other half stays in the converter....I'd go to valvoline or some other quick lube shop and have it hooked up to a flush machien so all the fluid can be changed.

  • Thanx for the video, but I think your fluid looked like new

  • @Airkilla09

I agree......But the car had 180k on it and I wasnt going to beg the dealership to give me my money back lol.
