  • The lines, "Why do you put me on a pedestal, I'm so up high that I can't see the ground below, So,help me down, you've got it wrong, I don't belong there", Does that mean that someone put you in a position where you are adored by others but just want to be love by one? I love this song, but I just wondering.

  • @xMelancholyLadyx Yeah! Pedstal is high position (I think), and like you'd said everybody adores you but you don't like be there. :)

  • OMG. i freaking miss this song! LOL

  • @xMelancholyLadyx It refers to held to an impossibly high standard. It's about being too vulnerable to disappointment.

  • @xMelancholyLadyx Ok, I'm a little late. But "why do you put my on a pedestal," is like, 'why do you think I'm so great? So, perfect? You expect too much from me.' And it makes sense with the lyrics, "I wear a halo, I wear a halo when you look at me," he sees perfection; therefore, also forgets that she can make mistakes. "I'm only human, and that's my saving grace..." and she says, "I give you everything I have: the good, the bad . . . I just want to love you."

  • There was a girl I went to school with last year who was always telling me that I had this perfect life and I was perfect and she wanted to be me. I couldn't figure it out. Then other people started telling me how I was the "good girl" and "the lucky one with the perfect life." and i wanted to show them my scars and help them see that NO ONE has a perfect life. This song is like my theme, as well as all the other "perfect girls" out there. Keep your head up. <3

  • i love this song!!! it so reminds me of OTH and its so good!!!! classic

  • @xMelancholyLadyx I think the lines refer to the over-protective guy that sees her as a breakable pretious girl and that she would rather be treated as his equal. She wants him to see that she isn't so fragile and that she can take care of herself but without pushing him away.

I don't think this explanation is better than yours. It's just a slightly diferent point of view.

  • Looove this Song <33333

  • which program do you use? :)

  • I want everyone to here this song when they meet me so they know that my halo isn't real.
