MGS4 New Game Big Boss Emblem Speedrun: 1:39:03 Act 4: Part 3 (Inc Act 4 Result)

The Gekko battle is another fixed time section. Therefore what you do here doesn't make any difference to the time. It would be nice if it did though. I did however choose to find a method that was fast. I based my time on how much of the fight sequence was remaining & at what part I took down the last Gekko(s). I could finish it faster by shooting some Gekko slightly earlier but it's not important. You don't have to have a full charge to destroy them but the familiar level 3 sound is a useful marker to guarantee you do. I believe it would be fast to use the M82A2 throughout but that requires 20 spot on headshots & an additional menu for extra ammo.
You can destroy the Gekko without aiming for the head by using a fully charged shot from the Railgun. You can also take down 2 with 1 shot if you shoot at the right place.
The Solid Eye is not a requirement but I used it to locate Gekko though smoke & debris clouds

Port Area: (RAY) I'm very pleased with this section. I'm not sure it can get any faster now. It's 4 seconds faster than the current fastest method demonstrated elsewhere.

What should I do if I no healing items/rations at all?

Take cover & listen to any of the healing songs on the iPod. Namely 'Sailor' & 'Rock Me Baby' both of which are located in Act 2's Vista Mansion & Confinement Facility respectively.

A single charge. It's exactly the same as the charge at the start of the battle.

The Railgun is automatically given to you once you take down Crying Wolf. You don't pay anything for it.

It is a great video !! really............ but it would be so much better if u explained how u defeat gekkos with one shot WITH M82A2 ? how u defeated ray and crying wolf so quickly ? because if we do the same as you.we dont get the same results !!!! THANKS AGAIN

I really can't figure out what you're doing with the missiles there. Is there a special pattern or timing that makes Ray react how he does? I find I am only doing a couple of hits of damage and then he blocks with one arm them jumps away. What is the trick to getting 50% damage out of a round of missiles?
