WWW.COLECOVISIONCRITIC.COM - Here's some gameplay footage of the classic computer platformer "Jumpman Junior." This is one of the best games ever made and the ColecoVision version is very well done.
Jumpman came out Waaaaaaaaaay before Mario or Super Donkey Dipshit...
Jumpman Jr. was a suprise because we always thought Jumpman was going to be ported to the Colecovision.
This was actually one of the best games EVER for the Colecovision and really not that hard to beat or turn over on the 1st skill level.
My Hand and Eye are 30 years out of practice for this one. Another Great was Montezuma's Revenge. Zenji would be my other top but it's puzzle and not a platform game.
@hootyhaha Mario was originally named Jumpman in the Japanese arcade version of Donkey Kong. His name was changed to Mario for the game's release in the United States.
@RABBIDGamfan Wasn't Donkey Kong the Mario dude? If you get on XBLA you'll see an exact image of the Jump Man Jr. guy. Anyway thanks for the response. If I can find it I'll come back and send you a link to what I'm speaking of.
@hootyhaha I don't think this game was on Intellivision. It sounds like you're referring to the character from Donkey Kong named "Jumpman" and confusing him with the main character from this game.
Was this game on Intellivision? I played my nephews Intelivision Lives game hoping it would be on there.. but it wasn't The Jump Man Guy was all over the game though it it was their Sonic or Mario logo.
Oh what a classic. But I think it played better on the C=64. Odd how an old tune like the opening music can get stuck in your head some 20 years later.
Jump-Man was the name for Nintendo's Mario character and this looks a bit like Donkey Kong graphics because of the platforms you run on. I've never seen this one before though.
