Very, very cool. I have pondered the soft shackle "stopper knot", but have never seen it described so well. I have done similar shackles with just a double overhand knot, but it's probably not as strong and certainly not (knot?) as pretty as the more symmetrical knot that you demonstrate.

The structure of the knot is also shown (as "Lanyard Knot") very clearly on pages 33 and 34 of the pdf document called, "The International Guild of Knot Tyers Knot Charts" (Google it if the following url does not survive the posting of this comment.).

The knot is the Sailors Knife Lanyard Knot, Ashley's Book of Knots #787. It starts with the Full Carrick Bend, ABoK 1439, and finishes with two additional tucks. Its construction is shown a little more clearly in Des Pawson's Handbook of Knots, Expanded Edition, 2004, p.71.
