interview with Ivan Hirscht. He was the british officer who - in 1945 - was ordered to investigate the possibilities of reestablishing a car factory in KdF Stadt, near Fallersleben. The plant was bombed during the war, but production restarted in 1946. KdF Stadt was renamed Wolfsburg in 1945.

I wonder if he ever imagined that the little "odd-shaped car" that they were producing as mostly a make-work exercise would still be around 60 years later!
