Tonal Motion - Interactive Arcade wall at the Battery Park City Community Center is a collaboration between hanrahan Meyers architects and Michael J. Schumacher. The BPC CC is a Platinum LEED certified building designed around principles of sustainable design. Water is a key issue of our time and Michael Schumacher's piece captures the idea of water, on the façade of a public building dedicated to sustainable design practices, and the use of water as a constantly circulating, regenerative natural element.
Visitors/ users will walk up to the glass façade of the building and wave their smartphones toward the façade. The façade will transmit a signal to the phone, with part of Michaels piece. Visitors can literally play the façade!
