Time Lapse Road Trip - Ventura to Santa Clarita

Get home from the beach in 90 seconds! Here's another "goof-off" video featuring some hi-speed driving action. The 70 minute trip is compressed into a 90 second time lapse sequence. It begins where California's hwy 101 and 126 meet in Ventura, and finishes right in the middle of downtown Santa Clarita (Canyon Country), CA. A quick stop is made at one of the famous fruit stands on hwy 126 to pick up some locally-grown produce. Original FM Adlib music soundtrack is "DOOM Level 8" from the DOOM I add-on episode "JCM2.WAD", composed and performed by Technician. MP3 version available online at JCMDI.COM.

I remember this drive from the 1960s. Santa Paula, Fillmore, Piru lake.

That road's changed a lot since then... it's four lanes pretty much all the way now. I remember when it used to be called the "suicide highway" bacause of all the head-on collisions in that 3rd center passing lane. Had a few close calls myself. :-O Ah yes... those were the days!

In real life this is a 70-minute trip... It would be great if it only took a minute and a half! XD

Ahhh yes, those were the days! It used to be quite the adventure going to the beach that way. Remember the "suicide lane" down the middle? - weekly head-on collisions from people passng in opposite directions... one of the state's most deadly roads.
