Psalm 40

1 I waited for the Lord my God, and patiently did bear; At length to me he did incline my voice and cry to hear.

2 He took me from a fearful pit, and from the miry clay, And on a rock he set my feet, establishing my way.

3 He put a new song in my mouth, our God to magnify: Many shall see it, and shall fear, and on the Lord rely.

4 O bless-ed is the man whose trust upon the Lord relies; Respecting not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

5 O Lord my God, full many are the wonders thou hast done; Thy gracious thoughts to us-ward far above all thoughts are gone:

6 In order none can reckon them To thee if them declare; And speak of them I would, they more Than can be numbered are.

Thanks so much for posting this. It moves me very far beyond my power to say. Such a powerful message, and so beautifully, beautifully sung, with genuine feeling. The great I AM will surely bless this.

The young people are practicing in the hope of producing one in April.

Our Launceston, Australia youth have produced a CD that is available.

@ Nielginfw; Thanks for the feedback. We're certainly Australian. This choir is made up of the older people in our Presbyterian youth group.

They sing for pleasure, because they love the psalms and it enhances the singing of the whole congregation.

Of course, when there's an opportunity to show off their abilities, they're happy to perform on special occassions.

Very good singing. Same words as we have in Scotland but a more upbeat tune it has to be said! I'll look forward to that CD. The church sounds very similar to my church, the youth do a lot of singing in parts. Is your church RP?

Raidfix - Where are you based? Australia? I thought I saw an "au" somewhere, last I looked. Are these students at a Presbyterian college?  This video is the best ad for the psalms I've ever heard. It almost makes me want to be a Pres, if they all sing it.
