That's a very subjective statement. In China, theists are barred from most professions and the politburo demands a confession of faith in atheism for government officials. That is in a country that has a large number of theists and constitutes one sixth of the world's population.

So that statistics doesnt say how many believers there are, it only say how many members there are. Membership doesnt really affect you so therefore you dont think about it. And therefore you dont cancel it. But if you really ask people if they believe in a god or not, about 80% will say no.

First. No I didnt find that.

Second. I´ve heard this before and I know that its wrong. How it works is that, when people get children they baptize them, not out of religous belief, but becouse of tradition. And then the children get (what do you call it) registered into the church. For most people in sweden, religion doesnt matter so they doesnt care if they are a member of the church or not. And thats where your statistics is from. Continue

@TheRealQawser sweden? an atheist nation? sweden's population is %73 luterans and it also has 500.000 muslims, 100.000 christians and 92.000 catholics. it's not an atheist nation, there are no atheist nations.
