Matimbia Community School Introduction

PEPAIDS is a UK based NGO focussing on alleviating poverty and HIV/AIDS in Zambia. This video is about our Schools of Good Hope programme which aims to provide a good standard of education for the most vulnerable children in Zambia. Through this project we provide basic teacher training to volunteer community school teachers and we also link community schools in Zambia with UK schools. The UK schools help to fundraise for their partner Zambian school so that we can buy all the resources that they need to provide a better quality of education to their pupils. 

Matimbia Community School in Hanjalika zone in Mazabuka, in the Southern Province of Zambia, has been linked with Davyhulme Primary School in Trafford in Manchester. Through the project we hope to build a really strong relationship between the pupils at both schools and we aim to make donating to charity much more tangible for the pupils at Davyhulme. Through videos, newsletters, email updates and photographs, Davyhulme school pupils will be able to see the impact that their fundraising efforts are having on the school.

Please note: This video is intended for children at Davyhulme primary school and so we have simplified the language and explained the poverty, education situation and system in Zambia in a basic way. This is in no way an attempt to over simplify the issues, we just want to make it understandable for the children at primary level.
