  • It took me a while but it turned out to be the gas valve. On this particular unit the hot surface ignitor is a 2 wire ignitor and plugs into the gas valve getting it's 24volts and the gas valve get's it's 24volts from the control board. The gas valve was getting 24volts going to it but not sending the 24 volts to the hot surface ignitor and the gas valve would open up and let gas out.

  • It was the Smart Valve I bet.

    Cool video.

  • Wow I'm sitting in a cold house with a 2 week old york furnace.

    Ottawa Canada. - 11 c

I will never buy another york product

I have been calling my heating contractor no answer, thats a funny thing from a company who claims 24 hour service.

I hate being lied to and ripped off.

  • going into the gas valve which is typically here (Toronto,Canada) 7" W.C and down stream of the valve to the burners being 3.5" W.C. It's the board that's haywire just replace it and it should run I don't see why it wouldn't but check gas.

  • It's the Control Board thats faulty. I mean you've jumped out the pressure switch the inducer motor is clearly running and should create a negative pressure closing that switch which in turn send a signal to the board telling the board that yes, the pressure switch did close but no HSI glowing sequence is initiating. You also said there is not gas going to the valve, it could be stuck closed even though it is clicking and trying to open but then again you must check gas pressure
