Irrespective of this swaamiji 'looks'like iyengar or smaarta, Adi shankara started his prayer with om naarayaNaaya and learned Iyengars do condone separatism, as I have seen. Could you think of vedic pandits skip through namakam from yajur veda, let alone a swaamiji?

Could we please stop this division, seemingly started by someone outside of Hindu religion for dividing our group and conquer, at least starting from this generation. Thanks.

hi friend i appreicate your questions . in south iyengar and iyer are the major subsect . many conservative iyengars will not worship murugan ( karthik ji) iyappan - sabari malai, and saivite gods. they worship only rama krishna hanuman and ganpat moorthi. of late the new generation started worshiping saivite gods. i have iyengar friends worship only murugan . but these all recent developments. in olden days iyengar even mingle with iyers.

Haridas Giri Swamiji is Vaishnavite. His explanations on Rudram is the most devsive and cast oriented I have ever heard. But, he does say there shoud not be devision. At Pomona,NY , USA based Sriranganathan Temple a Carnatic Vocalist cant even open the concert is salutations to Ganesh! The change can only come from Vaishnavites!!!!

ok. i have a question. This team looks aiyengar, and he is referring to lord Shankar and godess Parvati.

Am I getting something wrong here? Apologize for my limited knowledge, but I am a Maharashtrian who prays lord Shiva and heard that Aiyengar people only pray lord Vishnu.

Thanks Manivannan! I have had the pleasure of listenting to EKS for over 10 years in our RadhaKalyaanam! I knew Shri. Kalyanaraman was with their set but I had a faint idea of a legend I heard from my elders of Shri.Kalyanaraman's assosciation with Guruji, So I was thinking out aloud!

No. He is not Udayaalur Kalayanraman for sure. Udayaalur Kalayanramanji was a disiple of thiruvidaimarudhur Sri.Venkatarama Bhagavathar and He mostly sang along with sethalapathi Bhagavathar, EKS, Kumbakonam Balu Bhagavathar and several other stalwarts.
