@pmpscheduler Don't blame the copiers, there were many AA singers who became famous by that same strategy. A lot had to do with watering it down, mellowing or refining it for the mass markets. Some artist like the temptations did that. Louis Armstrong did it too. The music industry signed many black artist(they stayed poor b/c of copyright), but many black artist didn't play for the mass market.

It amazes me how people go to her videos to rehash things that happened almost 20 years ago. By all accounts she is a much different person now. Must she carry around the scarlet letter of shame FOREVER. Let it go. That was then, this is now.

why so you can try and copy her lyric? you shouldn't copy her, you should try and come up with your own style. Another racist tactic since the beginning of time, copy the AA singer, sell records.
