An open letter to the members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to consider an award for Mickey Rooney for his ten decades of movie stardom. That might be a first. The same open letter goes out to the Screen Actors Guild Board of Directors.

  • I have written a comedy "Skidoo Ruins" which Ed Asner said would make a great movie. I wrote the screenplay and sent it to Mickey Rooney's manager who told me Mickey really likes it! Imagine a teaming of Ed and Mickey. Any producers out there interested in making this a reality?

  • @ccvisions Sounds great. Good luck.

  • not only a "star" but a legend as well.

One of my biggest dreams is to be able to make it into the film industry in order to work with him.

great actor. hope he gets the award...

    :)

  • I will gradually work toward getting him an award. He probably will be working for some time yet so I hope you get to work with him. He is a very nice person. Thanks.

  • aww thanks, i appreciate the confidence and you know even if I could just get to meet him would be good enough...

any ideas about a book signing or public appearance in the near future?

on a side note: I think it is preposterous that Mickey Rooney doesn't have like a reserved spot at the Oscars since he is probably the oldest living legend of the film industry. I just finished watching my recording of it and I didn't see him so it angered me a little...

    :/

  • @Bolson333 I know he did recently appear at a signing at what was known as the Hollywood Autograph Show but I think it changes names occasionally. It was also known as The Collectors Show. It was held at the Hyatt in Burbank across from the Burbank Airport about 4 times yearly. The last I heard Mick was in London doing a twice nightly show. He stays busy. His website probably knows where he will be next. Good luck. I hope you get to meet and work with him. Thanks.
