  • the moustache is obviously the root of his problems.

  • The moustache make him look a decade older than Clive for crying out loud.

  • Maurice's tears breaks my heart every time.

  • I really like his sister by the way. She's so pretty!

  • This is getting really sad

  • 9:49 Ah, the ticker tape machine...internet version 0.01alpha!...I love all the period technology in this movie. If I had a time machine, ~1910 would definitely be on my list of times to see.

  • @jimsed1964 I can't focus when listening to audiobooks to save my life, haha. the books is so engrossing, though.

  • @beardo373 I agree. He and Clive were in the same boat. Both were considered the man of the house (In a house full of women) & the pressures they must have been under must have been appalling. It's not like Maurice was loafing around. He was family bread winner, but the women of the house complained about his Wednesday & weekend outings. For goodness sake, he wasn't married to them. Give him some slack. Sorry for the rant folks. LOL.

  • @floatinroundmytincan I'll have to read it more closely. In fact I listened to an audio book version because I didn't have a copy of the text. Now I have a copy. So I need to read it. LOL.

  • @jimsed1964 except for how in the book it's explicitly stated "maurice and clive were misogynists."

  • @ealaara I don't think Maurice hates woman. Not many gay men hate women. Maurice had every reason to be angry in this scene. Clive was trying to dump Maurice for Maurice's own sister. Maurice wasn't acting any different than most folks would in such a situation. He was hurting. He felt, betrayed. He needed to lash out & unfortunately his was sister became the target. Wrong of him to chose her, but he wasn't thinking clearly. Not many of us do think clearly when we have our hearts broken.

  • @beardo373 nicely said, thxs
