@deathstrike44 but the JSDF use this javelins, swords (katana, machete etc.), crossbows etc.

Well, these arms appeared in this video are introduced as "Silence Weapon" used by enemy guerrillas to assassinate or ambush. without this kind of reason, no need to fight with obsolete crossbow!
The service rifle which JSDF infantries use is Type 89 5.56mm assault rifle.

@JordForster Yes that is a crossbow the Japanese military 20th century use many different weapons like before. swords, bows, javelin, throwing knifes. so they dont only use M14 etc. I really like the Japanese military becouse of Bushido. I beleave on Bushido like the Samurai, IJA & JSDF. look at "bushidocode . org" for more information about Bushido 19th century - 20th century etc.
