  • Its beautiful...I did something incorrectly. I broke the eye of my needle trying to pull the rubbon through. I am using 4mm ribbon.Oy!

  • @ATorahKeeper

Maybe try a larger needle size, that may help.

  • To check if it's your fabric giving you difficulty use your needle without any thread on it and push the needle through the fabric. Is it easy to push through? Or is it difficult? If it is easy then you should be okay with ribbon to embroider on it but if it's difficult then you will have trouble embroidering on the fabric no matter what else you do

  • It is normal for it to be a little difficult to pull through, which is why I use a little round needle grabber to pull my needle through when my bare fingers won't do the job. You could use anything rubber that you have around the house too like dish washing gloves. You could also use pliers to pull it as well. Also I thought of your fabric, can you poke the needle through empty very easy? If you can then it should be okay to embroider on.

  • The only other thing I can think of other than the normal difficulty to pull through that would make it near impossible would be the wrong needle size either too big or too small can do it.

  • No problem, I hope what I suggested helps! Another thing is if the needle is too small it can make it hard too so you have to have a just right one.

Is it just hard to pull it through? Also don't tighten the knot too tight when you snug it up at the end that can cause it to be too hard too. You have to loosely tighten, then pull through.

  • thx a lot for your reply, i didn't see it till now honeybee.

i don't get the question, i asked about if i was using silk ribbon ( that's what i've though before) they told me it's not really it. i tried to uply the easiest thing i've learned from you on a crochet bag that i have and it worked. i'll try to send it to you.

    thank you.

  • hi honeybee, i tried to do it again and i didn't tighten the knot too tight and it's still hard to pull it through.

i couldn't go out yesterday to buy the materials, but i am planning to do it when i can.

    thanks.

  • thx for the replay, i am using a silk ribbon.

i am gonna buy some materials today and i'll try to apply the two other suggestions. thanks again honeybee.

  • Hi thank you, I have a question for you are you using silk ribbon? It is easier to do if you use silk instead of polyester. Also it could be that your needle is too big, or you might just need a rubber needle grabber to help pull your needle through. I hope that one of these helps you, if not I don't know if I can help more unless I see how you are working the stitch to see if that is the problem.
