A review of this delightful dark lager from the Czech Republic. Who says good beer has to be expensive?

  • Pasteurizing is heat-treating to sterilize basically, and it will affect the taste of the final product. The trade-off can be shorter shelf-life. I don't know sure for sure, but I would suspect that all their beers are not pasteurized..

  • are all bernard beers un-pasteurized?? does that make a big difference in taste.. I have tried Bernard lager and its really good!

  • @Chad9976 Hi ! I am from Czech Republic, here are many good beers, surely isn´t expensive if you count in US dollars. Try mark Svijany or Granat btw. Bernard is superclass. I don´t know if those marks are avaible in your country.

  • That mug looks huge! Sounds like you got a great deal for a buck! I wish my beer store ran specials like that.

  • Great review. I have to try this!
