  • i'm really starting to get into country music but can someone explain to me - just what is a b-bender?

  • a b bender is a guitar with a contraption on it that "bends" the b string up a step to C#. If you put your finger on the third fret of the b string (d) and put the lever it raises it to an e. Just google b bender and you'll see an explanation.

  • First of all, thanks for the explanation. There's only one question left. Why is a b bender better than a locking tremelo bar? You could do the same with that, couldn't you?

  • There is a difference. A tremolo bar lowers all the strings. The b bender only raises the b string up a step to C#, (or if you were fretting the b string on the 3rd fret for example, it would raise the d note to an e. This creates different possibilities than a tremolo bar.

  • what is the band of that song

  • this version was the outro done by the Byrds with the great Clarence White, who was the the "Adam" of b-bender players.

  • Truck Stop Girl is not "by" The Byrds. It's by Little Feat, specifically Lowell George and Bill Payne.

  • thank you, cool player :)

  • a tab to this would be very much appreciated. im a big clarence fan

  • Would you mind to send a tab of this solo ?

  • you've nailed that outro from the record - all you need now is the late Skip Batten & the alive and well [as far as I know] Gene Parsons

  • right on !!

  • Great job!

  • lovely playing eric

  • good stuff, you have played it quite close to the Byrds "untitled" version. Check out the byrds live at royal albery hall 1971 for more jaw dropping clarence white stuff.

Now I need to get one these b bender teles just like gene parsons invented.
