@TheGorgeramirez: Most animals fight like this. Its all about intimidation and fighting is used a very last resort. Remember, they don't have hospitals and doctors to patch up any broken bones or clean wounds. An infected gash or a broken bone is instant death in the wild. Here, the Tarb figured that it wasn't worth the effort of getting nasty gashes just to prove he's tougher. Had the Therizonsaurus gotten bitten and lived, it would have probably backed down as well.
