thanks88 Are you crazy??? As a chinese, I am moved by the video and want to say thank you to so many kind Americans. I think those people who adopt chinese orphans are simply because of love, love can bring peace and is across boundary.

We adopted a little girl from China last year and found the Chinese people to be freindly and personalble while we were there. The orphanage that we visited fostered our little girl out to a loving mother who lived nearby (this is an increasingly common practice in Chinese orphanages). What we saw when we arrived was a new building that was well equipped and had a caring staff. They have made dramatic improvements in recent years.  We know that our daughter was loved while she was there.

I really want to adopt a child from China. I'm only 16 so it won't be happening any time soon but when I'm older I definately want to adopt a baby. So many people want to have their own kids and get in vitro fertilization or something like that when they could simply adopt a baby who is in desperate need of a home. I'm not trying to be rude to people who want to have a child of their own I'm just saying that there are reasons to adopt

friarcajun....that's not true, why would you say such a thing..it's not like getting a dog or something...a trend??

People who adopt usually go through an agency and are usually recommended China because it has a shorter waiting period....Have you adopted....most people who adopt usually want the same but in North America..wait can be years.

im going to be adopting from china because its were i feel my heart being called to, i truly believe my daughter is mint to me born in china, im not sure why (only God knows that) but its not because its "trendy"

Many, many white families are adopting from Africa. I read their blogs everyday.

If you adopt from China you're almost for sure going to get a baby girl, unless you opt for a special needs baby. Most people for some reason want to adopt girls so China just seems like an obvious answer. Also the fact that birth parents are unknown so it's a completely closed adoption is naturally liked by people. I don't know about how the African adoption system is though just saying that there's reasons people prefer to adopt from China.

Not just America's but China in general is rising as a central power fast I believe. It has the fastest growing economy and obviously also the biggest population. I'm sure we can expect great things from China in the future.

People adopt Chinese girls because there is a mystique, even trendy, aspect to them. What about African orphans?
