what and incredibly perfect voice for the lieder repertoire! simply stunning- clear, resonate, and espessionate without hindering the German diction, nor the subtlety of the form versus the larger acting required of staged operas- belle!

Valerie Masterson is brilliant, as always. I love her singing in all the Gilbert and Sullivan operettas, especially her role as Yum Yum in The Mikado. Is she still singing or teaching these days? She's getting a bit long in the tooth, but I think she's still involved in music as she loves it.I think she loves cooking a bit more.

I entirely agree - this is the only recording I have heard of her singing German lieder and it only makes me wish she'd recorded more - just beautiful. And doesn't she look like Lee Remick in this clip?

God! Valerie's voice is just so beautiful and expressive. Would be hard to better it!
