Videowave was a cable TV show in New York City during the mid 1980s. This 1984 interview features three members of the Cheepskates (David, Van, and Tony) and also includes a live performance of their single "Run Better Run" from a show earlier that same year at an NYC club called 240 West. The evening was an all garage/psych line-up called Fuzzfest '84 that also included The Tryfles, The Outta' Place, The Vipers, The Fuzztones, and The Mosquitos. In my univesre, Run Better Run IS a hit, gentlemen... that organ part alone is sheer genius.
I mostly prefer raw garage rock but the Cheepskates have a special place in my heart.
Is Love Really fair...?
Yesterday's Leaves is also an amazing song, was that Shane solo?
And Star, from that same period...

In an alternate, more elightened universe "Run Better Run" would have been a huge hit. You're too cool David, and I'm not just saying that because I'm your cuz, I swear! Gilbert "Will" Herrera
