NEW VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zPS-Y...

A lot of people are receiving some misguided information on Windows 8. Yet, everyone I know who uses it loves it. So why do journalists say one thing, but people say another? I'll recount my experience as a Windows 8 and Surface fan, from the perspective of a college student. See why Windows 8 is the next great thing.

Great job. Love the fact it has office. IPad did not work for me and very happy with the surface and Xbox music

Hi! Can you please recommend me a device which will suit me primarily for educational purposes e.g. browse the web, make presentations, write essays etc. I don't play games, however I like when device is fast and fluid. I prefer convertibles like Sony vaio because I want it to be portable.

I would agree with you on getting a convertible. As of now, Surface RT is only for people who have a dedicated computer. I recommend going to Best Buy's website, refining your search by looking only for touchscreen computers, and using that as a guide as to which convertibles or laptops you should look at. The Vaio convertible is quite slick though :)

You totally nailed it. Win 8 is excellent on a touchscreen laptop. Maybe it's a little ahead of its time and that's why there's so much of bad press.

I've had Windows 8 for a few weeks now and although it took some time getting used to, I absolutely love it now! It keeps things very organized and runs so smoothly. Windows has definitely stepped their game up with this OS.

Hi, Richard. Really nice video, big thumb up.

I just got my windows 8, and I really enjoy it. But I got a quick question. I keep getting a white border around my tiles in the Metro style even when I'm navigating using my mouse (I went through all the settings but I just can't get rid of it). Do you happen to know which setting I messed with (or maybe a certain driver)?

How do you like the Logitech T650? Would you recommend it as a desktop mouse replacement?

Launchpad in it's current form is identical to springboard on iOS, it's just that, a grid launcher with app search and namable folders. For better or worse, that's all it aspires to be. It's less powerful (but simpler) by design.

The Start Screen is supposed to be an all-in-one centrepiece to Windows for notifications, app launch and quick info. In OSX it's handled separately by Notification Centre, Launchpad and Dashboard. Integrated + powerful vs modular + simple. Common MS/AAPL theme

As a current user of OSX, I do use it. Admittedly I use the dock and spotlight a lot more, much like on my Win8 PC I use the Start search and Win+W a lot more than I use the actual Start Screen to launch desktop apps. I use the Launchpad mainly to launch applications I access infrequently, being abstracted from /Applications I can organize it as I please for convenient quick access to those random tools and whatnot.

Start Screen is a bit more useful as it's designed to be a "First-Class" part of the OS. When (and if) Apple treats Launchpad like this, it'd be hard to choose based on OS alone.

Trouble is...Ask apple users (i used to be one of them) if they actually use launchpad.

Solid video. I'm not currently part of the Windows ecosystem but have been intrigued with what Windows is doing and have been follow them for some time now.

You touched on Xbox Music in this video and you seemed quite pleased with it. If you make future videos it would be great if you could give a more in-depth look into real life use of Xbox Music, addressing some of the issues ppl frequently complain about? (zune vs xbox music)

    Cheers.
