"I saved this for you: Woodside, NY" is a dance theater piece about home and the complex process of getting rid of things. "I saved this for you: Woodside, NY" begins outside in Doughboy Park, and then travels indoors to the TOPAZ ARTS building. Outdoors, there is a playful dialogue between the performers' bodies and the open space and natural sounds of the park. Indoors, the performers' bodies become evolving objects that reflect the things we choose to keep. H.E. Cicada Brokaw composed an indoor soundscore that combines acoustic guitar, bass guitar, percussion, and sounds from nature and the home for a layered aural environment. As the piece unfolds, the performers explore the relationship between their body and their objects, and conclude that each person has a different method to determine what to keep and what to throw away.
