Is the Aufgang trio displacing the axioms of the music genres? After a first album as unclassifiable as
fascinating and two EPS, which knocked out Techno with arpeggios of piano (Sonar) or pushed aside
Contemporary Classic Music (Channel 7) with electronic explosions, the Tristano-Khalifé-Westrich generation
gets ready to climb one more stair with "Barock".
"Barock", because this masterpiece of their album stands out as a real "Trompe-oreille". A track, which is
seemingly faithful to the academic melodic shapes but in reality fully abundant with delightful irregularities.
"Barock", also, " because it rock! " more than never.
For their third wax plate on InFiné, some personalities also highly famed for their bright malpractices have been
invited: the American godfather of minimal Techno, the new French Boy Wonder of I.D.M. and one of the most
exciting German deep-house trio producer.
Robert Hood, granted as one of the most authoritative comeback of
2009, turns the Aufgang`s approach upside-down. Brilliantly repetitive at
opening, the remix lets gradually the melody spread in the mind and in
the feet. Thrilling for any demanding dance-floor activist!
One album and a fistful of Eps for « Asphalt Duchess », « Fool House »
or « Citizen », is all what it took for Mondkopf to become one of the
best French descendants of the Warp school. Pushing Barock to the
borders of I.D.M, he blows in the track with destructive breaks,
restrained explosions of larsen´s and synth notes, a new energy equally
raw and exhilarating.
« Under the radars », after the release of their first album « Formation »
on the Danish label Tartelet, Wareika invites us with their re-interpretation for a new pastoral ride. Widely
influenced by World Music and Free Jazz, the trio from Hamburg flies with grace over lunar waves, deliciously
flirts with dissonances and only keeps from the original few elusive and ethereal piano notes.
1 American, 3 German, 2 French, 1 Lebanese, 1 Luxemburgish, The « Good Generation » is once
again international!
