One of the most rousing performances of a duet I have ever heard!

This is nothing! Listen to del Monaco and Pavarotti... Domingos sound is boring.... not passionate.... He only looked good.... Her voice is not for this kind of music! She is to liric...you can hear that she have problems with this huge melodylines....She has been wonderful MOZARTSOPRANO and all easy liric Verdiroles but never SPINTO/DRAMATICSTUFF! Excuse.... Listen to TEBALDI SHAFAJINSKAIA Guleghina.......DIMITROVA CALLAS a.s.m.

The transposition was done to accommodate whom? Not to disparage Domingo, because he's a top notch artist, but I'm guessing it was done for him. It's no secret he struggled with notes higher than Bb. That's why while Pavarotti was crowned King of the High C's, Domingo was jokingly crowned King of Bb's.
Anyway, beautifully sung by both Tomowa-Sintow and Domingo. Very touching!

THE BEST OPERA EVER !

I did not like it very much because it was not sang its original key, i have always said that if opera singers cant sing the are or duet in its original sing, the lets be humble and dont dont sing it at all.
Some people cant just admit that they had their prime time already gone and have to adjust to their posibilities
mY FAVORITE OPERA DUET. Very powerful and dramatic
