A special TV appearance of two rarely seen, but highly influential musical performers. In support of Don Henleys' magnificent "The End Of The Innocence" album we have the legendary Danny Kortchmar (seen here on the left -no surprise -with the leather jacket & shades) Along with co-writing TBOS and several other tracks of Don Henleys' epic "Building The Perfect Beast" in 1984, maestro Kortchmar had produced & performed on Neil Youngs' "Landing On Water" album, performed with Linda Ronstadt & Aaron Neville the number one hit "All My Life" and "When Somethings Wrong" on the "Tonight Show" with Andrew Gold and rhythym section icons bassist Lee Sklar & drummer Russ Kunkel. Kootch, as he had been known by James Taylor, performed on the seminal "Sweet Baby James" LP which basically launched James Taylors' career as his previous LP his debut produced by AppleCorps and the Beatles hadn't quite done.
....And while we were all waiting for 'hell to freeze over', Eagle Don Henley was kicking his solo career into high-gear here with this song from "Building The Perfect Beast" . It was the second song performed by Don Henley on SNL that night with "The Last Worthless Evening" from the monster "End Of The Innocence" album performed earlier in the broadcast. The EOTI albums' huge success as well as country giant Travis Tritts Eagles tribute album were two factors credited with the thaw that established conditions for "Hell Freezes Over" and The Eagles reunion to come about that still continues to this day.
Last but not least, Don Henleys' magnificent pipes (voice), songwriting skills, and performing talents at this time were still probably the most recognizable on the planet then; 10 years after The Eagles "The Long Run" album was released.
Until this music Icon and vocal legend Don Henley, NBC, Broadway Video, Irving Azoff and any other copyright owners decide otherwise, andyvincentwhostube is extremely proud to have this performance available to view. We wish Don Henley and The Eagles much success on their upcoming tour....
Catch it again when SNL repeats this episode sometime.
Enjoy & BUY all these performers music tracks.

Man... I wish it was Kortchmar....he is awesome....... however, the guitarists on this are John Cory in the sunglasses, Frank Simes with ponytail, and the very talented Jennifer Condos on bass ..as I remember in this broadcast, Sheryl Crow was one of the background singers during "Last worthless evening"....she had a big poofy permed hairdo. Thanks for posting man! I have been looking for this show on some of my old VHS tapes !! If you find last worthless evening, please post if possible.Thanks.
