Avoid bio-fuels. Actually the E10 already contains MORE than10 % ethanol!
There is a bill to be passed in the USA for 15% ethanol ( so the world needs less Arab oil) but rubbers,plastics and engine-oil will quickly deteriorate with this bio-fuel.

@bkl93908 Now after another 8 weeks, the NEW REPLACEMENT tank has swollen up worse than the OE one. this is pathetic, when an item is replaced under warranty it should be replaced with a correct and rectified item.. not just "here, have another one and see how that one goes", this is ridiculous,WTF..?
I've now contacted Guildford Harley Davidson and said i do not want just another tank fitted, i want a better solution,or it goes to trading standards sighting "unfit for purpose", we shall see..

Hi buddy, yeah, it has changed a bit since i had it... the cover slapped on loose when i got it, but now clips down tight with no slack... but its not popping off yet.... if this continues and i have to have a second new one, then ill lodge a complaint with the TSO and claim compensation under 'unfit for perpose', then use the cash to have an alloy tank made..
I had this exact issue with my XR1200x, they supplied a new tank AND cover under warranty. the new one has been fine.!

@Moonfleet41
Good for you. Many of the guys on the XR1200 Forum have replaced tanks, only to have them swell up again. Let us know how your new tank performs after another 1000 miles!
