" A Kevin Jonas Love Story" chapter 12

Joe's POV ....
I woke up the next morning feeling brand new. I've never spent the night and if I ever was here longer than a couple of hours it was never to wake up next to her. She's the first thing I saw when I opened my eyes. I got dressed and said my goodbyes. I left and hoped that when I got home that I didn't have to incur the same wrath that my mom has out for Kevin. I put the keys into the door and when I walked in I saw Kevin in the kitchen having breakfast by himself. Of course now I know why he comes down late, he does it because Maria is washing the dishes and everyone else has left the table.
Kevin: Hey, where have you been all night.
Joe: Why should I tell you?
Kevin: Are you ok?
Joe: If I was would you care.
Kevin: I think you and I need to have a little talk.
I watched Kevin get up from the table, bring his plate to Maria and lightly kissed her on the neck. In that moment I felt selfish and realized how much my brother was happy with her, and how much he trusted me seeing there affection.
Kevin: now, tell me what's wrong
Joe: You know what, nothing is wrong. I feel stupid to even admit I was mad at you.
Kevin: ok,weird. What changed your mind?
Joe: You just did. I just saw the way you were with each other and it made me feel happy for you.
I walked right up to him and gave him the biggest hug I've given him in a long time.
Kevin: Ok, so now that were buddies again are you gonna tell me what you were doing out all night?
Joe: hah, wouldn't you like to know.
Kevin's POV............
I'm glad that's out of the way now. I was worried that I had hurt his feelings. He went upstairs to take a shower and I went back to the kitchen. I came up behind her and put my arms around her waist and my head on her shoulder.
Me: Whatcha doin?
Kevin: I think I'm gonna take my brothers somewhere today, just the 3 of us. I miss them.
Me: Did I ever tell you how sweet you are?
Kevin: maybe, but you know what we haven't talked about yet?
Me: What's that?
Kevin: about me telling you that I love you.
Me: Kevin.....I don't think this is the place or the time to discuss that.
Kevin: *pouting* Why not?
Me: because I'm in my work clothes,dirty, with bacon and eggs stuck under my fingernails from doing these dishes.
Kevin: and your still beautiful, so what's your point.
Me: Funny, that conversation is just gonna have to wait. Go take you brothers out I'll see you later.
Kevin: Oh your gonna see me later alright. We have some talking to do.
