  • What I see is a demonstrator with an oxygen canula in his nose and taking large inhales through his MOUTH - no oxygen gain there!

I also see his shoulders heave up when taking a large inhale, instead of diaphram breathing.

When doesn't he practice what he preathes? He's simply a bad example.

  • @TheJamesclarkjr The actual demonstration shows none of what you say. It is obvious you didn't watch the entire video. Before you make comments like this you should at least have the courtesy to watch it all the way through no matter how painful it is for you. I know that is what I will do when you post your video on pursed lip breathing. If it has any merit at all I will be the first to tell all my friends about it. If not, unless it does more harm than good,I will just keep my mouth shut.

  • I think Boo, my cat, was trying to tell me that one great way to help relax is to pet the kitty. I just wasn't listening at the time. :)

  • My neighbor had asthma as a child and started smoking in the seventh grade. By high school he was a heavy smoker spending all of his money on cigarettes. After high school he got a job as a truck driver and moved up to five packs a day. By his late thirties he was getting pretty sick and cut down to over two packs a day of filtered cigarettes. He told me the doctor said filters were better but I didn't believe it. Later he switched to "light" cigarettes and went back to chain smoking

  • thanks brother... i hope you are able to stay and live healthy long enough. you give hope for many who need this information badly.

  • Thumbs up for the cute cat!

  • @TheJamesclarkjr Yeah really .. what video were you watching?

  • @TheJamesclarkjr diaphram breating is not good with COPD patients! It only takes more energy and that is the last thing what you want! pursed lip breathing is important for COPD patients

I watched all of you videos and watched Part 2 again.

You do much better in the other videos but in the Part 2 video you are clearly getting little oxygen from your canula because you are mouth breathing in big inhales, and each time you inhale you right shoulder rises in the view, a clear sign of chest breathing.

Go back and watch your own video - Parft 2 should be re-recorded.

I think what you are attempting to do is wonderful. Many with COPD arre lacking good information.

  • The reason for my very hard work in Pulmo Rehab was due to my concerns regarding a growing Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm that required surgery before it burst. My Pulmonary Specialistg would not approve surgery due to my poor lung function - could put me to sleep but could not wake me up again. MY LIFE DEPENDED ON LUNG FUNCTION IMPROVEMENT. Worked like mad, improving my Diaphragm condition, adoping Purse Lip Breathing (do ist whiile sleeping now) and lots of strength training. Now nite Oxygen

  • I watch all of you videos I could find, from the start + Parts 2, 3, 5 & &.

I suggest you look at Part 2 again and watch your shoulders rise at every inhale. You do much better and proper breathing on the other videos. But you consistently inhale with an open mouth most of the time - not a good example.

You act like I don't know the suffereing. When COPD hit me hard after 55 years of heavy smoking, I was on Oxygen 24/7. My lung function was only 42%. With hard rebab I increased it to 84%
