In spring 2008 four Northwestern students founded GreekBuild, a partnership between Northwestern's fraternities and sororities and Habitat for Humanity to build homes in the Chicago suburb of Waukegan. It is the first service project to bring together the entire Northwestern Greek community.

Nearly 300 GreekBuild volunteers worked onsite from February through June, and volunteers also raised $100,000 to help fund the project, part of Habitat's Carter Crossing development in Waukegan.

The dedication of the 2009 house will be held Oct. 3.
