http://www.sureflap.com Microchipping is the most common form of pet identification. A microchip is a tiny electronic device about the size of a grain of rice that is implanted in your pet between the shoulder blades.

Each microchip has a unique number which is listed on a database along with the owner's contact details. If the animal is lost it can be scanned to see if it is chipped. If a chip is located the number can be linked to the owner and the two can be reunited.

Cats that have been microchipped can have their unique ID programmed into the SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap to keep out invading neighbouring cats and wildlife.
