you bring your own bag you save money:

Some shops make people pay for a plastic bag
Some shops give people reduction if they dont use a plastic bag
Shops can have a big box where people can leave their old plastic bags and other people can use them again ( idea used in Holland)

If you can see count how many items went into one bag.

Make an own bag out of old clothing

Keep a plastic bag diary for one week
Count how many times you bought something and how many times a plastic bag was offered to you.
