Taking a drive in an oilsands development project somewhere north of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada. These particular roads are built on muskeg which otherwise would be impassable if not for the thick layer of ice built up on them by water trucks before hand.

  • @vtnsx yeah i saw your videos about drifting a loaded tractor trailer on the ice. i was impressed

  • every lease road or forestry road looks like this in the alberta winters , just another day at the office man ! like they say if yer scared chain up !

  • @Merle1987

It just means that the rig only runs there in the winter. They relocate somewhere else in the summer/warmer months. We have rigs that move every couple of weeks depending on the conditions and whether or not trucks can get into them. If they are really wanting to stay where they are, they put in matting to help the trucks stay about the ground ... bad drivers aren't really an asset to hauling out of these ones ... especially if you have to back onto the matting.

  • Looks like Linn tractor speed.

  • Dumb question, but if road like this in the muskeg aren't drivable in the summer, does that mean everything goes by plane?

  • Wanna trade? I drive the 401 through Toronto every day during rush hour (which is all day long)

  • BEEN THERE DONE IT AND FUCKING MISS IT!!!!

  • your driving is fuking boring learn to drift or something

  • @oilpatchgirl are you hot? if not then gtfo
