http://www.davidlynchfoundation.org/ On June 8, 2011, the David Lynch Foundation held a gala at American University in Washington DC in honor of the launch of Operation Warrior Wellness DC - an initiative to teach 10,000 veterans suffering with PTSD and their families the Transcendental Meditation technique. In this clip from the event, DLF vice president Bob Roth interviews leading neuroscientist Dr. Fred Travis on the effects of TM practice on the brain. Dr Travis reveals stunning findings about the impact of acute stress on the brain, including how trauma promotes hypervigilance - the "veil of fear" - and locks-in the "fight-or-flight" response, and how TM practice, by giving the brain with an opposite, soothing, integrating experience, heals these scars.

  • I'm sold. Meditation really has been very beautiful for me. And scientific research really reinforces the change

  • Just like the ancient teaching of "flux" for river, "you cannot step into the same river twice." This man in brilliant... I feel the exact same way, this should be spread far and wide to like-minded people. Much love, *pEACe*
