We can't afford not to deal with reality. We look at hard realities and deal with problems. It is true that things must be looked at with a sense of humor. What is also true is that it is no joke that the Jewish community of Lithuania was virtually devastated. Yet the Jews are still here and they need help. I am working to create the Vilnius Jewish Library and can't do it all alone. I am asking the philanthropists to remember that Jewish life exists not only in America and Israel.
