Man, I like this more than Michangeli's Ondine. Which is saying a lot. My only beef was that his original Rachmaninoff Concerto No. 4 didn't quite surpass the mastery of Michelangeli. In such a short time though, Sudbin has reached a higher maturity. I'd like to hear his Rachmaninoff No. 4 live if I could. =/

Pity that Sudbin didn't play the original accompaniment in the bars 4-7. But despite that a stupendous interpretation!

how aristocratic his playing is! so elegant and refined for someone so young, definitely keeping an eye on him in the future

It's now possible to order (autographed) CDs directly from his website, including the latest recording, just released.

Without a doubt, Yvgeni Sudbin is the foremost talent of the young gen of pianists. Along with Tharaud, I believe he has the brightest future ahead of him. A substantial intellect with an astounding virtuosity and tone-I cant wait to see what he does. His maturity is excatly why I believe he is sound good. It is this maturity that I hope will allow Sudbin to "work-out" this piece in a better and more architecturally sound manner. I cant wait to hear him play this in about year or two.
Yvgeny is one of the most promising artist to appear in the 21st century. When he matures as an artist, he can be compared to Horowitz with his impeccable techniques and intuitive musical understanding. His Ravel is like flowing waters, creating ripples in the arts scene. He has great control over the keyboard, and is never harsh with the notes he plays. His passages are very clean and he tackles this technically challenging piece with finesse and with grace. What lyricism! He is a musical poet!

This has to be one of the best Ondines I've ever heard. His control is amazing, and it's live! Extremely impressive.
