MF has been bought and sold so many times over the past century. Federated could save your local landmark. I'm not saying that changing the name was proper, i agree with nessiesmum, but think about the building being rezoned as a mixed-use building if it should close.

I've never been to Macy's and I don't want to walk into a Macy's store(and it can be ANY Macy's store)because I support Marshall Field's coming back.
