NIGHT CALLER (1975) Part 1

After I posted a 3-video series spotlighting Anthony Spinelli's THE SEDUCTION OF LYN CARTER, a subscriber requested some clips from an obscure film I mentioned in one of the descriptions: NIGHT CALLER! As Robert, a pervert who gets off using dirty phone calls as foreplay and prefers the sounds of sex to the actual act, Greek David Book gives a bizarre and compelling performance that is the best of his career.

This is not one of Spinelli's best efforts (it is basically an adult variation of Lee Frost's masterful THE ANIMAL), but it has a brooding discomfort that seeps under your skin. The sex is on the raunchy side, as can be previewed here. Dean Rogers, who would write most of Spinelli's great films of the 70s, injects a strange scene starring a character named "Helen". While Bob thinks "Helen" is a female prostitute, he is sadly mistaken; Helen is in fact a drag queen male prostitute, who indulges in a gender-bending scene that is certainly one of the most daring in the genre.

o m g. what is this and where was I when it was being shown. I was looking for an obscure children's short movie explaining how the telephone works. I remember watching it in kindergarden. I was looking for nostalgia and I found this gem! LMFAO
