I don't think that's true though coz there's been episodes that have reran back as far as 1970. Aggie would have been right to threaten to stop producing if they did keep erasing episodes and retaping them. That stuff is supposed to go into the vaults with the rest of them like every show. It wouldn't of made her a monster. AMC is art and you can't just erase and reuse and reerase. Facts and history are important...as opposed to now.

I heard somewhere the ABC didn't keep any of the episodes from 1970-1979, they simply rerecorded over them, until Agnes Nixon threatened to stop producing the show unless the network agreed to PRESERVE the episodes, which they started doing that year. I am not sure how true this is, especially the part about Agnes Nixon threatening the network. She seems like such a sweetheart.

You know considering AMC was only a half an hour back in 1970(hell all the way to 76) maybe they could at least put them on DVD's and sell them buy the season like everything else. They can charge whatever they want to and make as many DVD's in one package as they need to. It could save the foundation of today's soap opera's struggling days(and all other soaps) I seriously don't see why they can't do it!
